They Saved Hitler’s Brain (1968)

Imagine you work for Adolph Hitler.
Literally, LITERALLY, the most feared and hated man in the world.
As you can imagine, hanging out with him can really be a pain in the ass.
Instead of walking around with Adolf Hitler, why not just cut off his head and carry that around, like carry on luggage or some sort of angry hat box?

In this movie, our angry little Nazi’s decide that the head of Hitler is a much better leader than a whole Hitler and decide to start down the road to the Fourth Reich by killing everyone in an imaginary little banana republic called Mandoras.
We’ve go:
Incompetent secret agents!
Nazi Blues Brothers!
Cut rate Carmen Miranda!
The head of Hitler in a jar!
I invite you to download and listen to “They Saved Hitler’s Brain”.

The Episode

Words From Warren

I like to quote from one of my favorite reference books, the late Bill Warren’s “Keep Watching The Skies: American Science Fiction Movies of the Fifties”.  Mr. Warren does not suffer fools gladly, and does not mince his words when it comes to either praising a film or flaying it alive.

“With some justice, it has become notorious as one of the worst films of all time. What survives of Bradley’s footage is distinctly more professional in appearance (photographed as it was by Stanley Cortez) than the rest of the film, which features amateurish cinematography, but it is shoddily conceived and Bradley exercises a heavy hand to no good end.”

This is one of those times where I agree with Bill Warren and also root for him from the sidelines to keep on going!
Any awards that this film, no matter what the title, has won with regards to “Worst Movie of All Time” or “The Movie That Made My Eyes Bleed Most” or even “This Movie Made Me Quit Film Making Forever Because I Felt Such Despair” are all well deserved and should be placed on the mantle accordingly, so that everyone can see the trophies.
